Billy Boy Arnold, John Primer, Billy Branch and Lurrie Bell have joined forces to record this new 2-disc, 21-track CD. It allows the listener to hear the evolution of the Chicago Blues sound from 1940 to the present as performed by the genre’s greatest living artists - who are the inheritors of the tradition.
It is a fresh, new look into the Chicago Blues, and comes in a stunning, deluxe four-panel, full-color digipack with an accompanying 36-page booklet filled with historical and biographical information as well as photos from renowned Chicago Blues photographer Marc PoKempner.
With their all-star, veteran Chicago band, these artists pay homage to the architects and sound innovators of the Chicago Blues starting from 1940 to the present. They are: John Lee ‘’Sonny Boy’’ Williamson, Tampa Red, Big Bill Broonzy, Big Maceo, Memphis Slim, Billy Boy Arnold, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Sonny Boy Williamson #2, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, Earl Hooker, Junior Wells, James Cotton, Buddy Guy.
